About Felix Oppenheim
Felix Oppenheim is a legendary Swedish adventure, action and travel photographer. He loves to ski and began to work as a photographer when he was in the Alps in the 1970s. Then he worked for several travel companies and ski magazines and created a completely new professional group – he became a ski photographer.
For many who know Felix, he is synonymous with skiing and outdoor life, and a great part of his photographs are beautiful adventure pictures from extreme skiing or mountain climbing.
Nowadays, Felix is working a lot broader with his photography, which today includes everything from portraits, travel portrayals to food photography.
As his greatest memorable photographic merit, he ranks the mission as an expedition photographer when the extreme skier, Sylvain Saudan, became the first in the world to ski an 8,000-meter-high peak: Hidden Peak 8068m in Kashmir, Pakistan. Felix thereafter sold the pictures worldwide, six pages in Paris Match, eleven pages in Powder and numerous international magazines and newspapers.
During his career, Oppenheim has worked on all continents for different clients and has, among other things, been commissioned by large companies such as Ericsson and TetraPak. He is the only Swedish member of the SanDisk Extreme Team.
Now some of his amazing photos are available at Art on the Wall – each of them has its own story, which you can take part of.
